What to Expect
Q. What’s a first visit like?
A. First, we talk and I ask what’s going on, what you’re feeling and where. Then I will:
Give you a comprehensive, traditional orthopedic and neurological range-of-motion exam
Check your muscle tone and how your nervous system is responding
Evaluate how your muscles are firing and if they fire in order
Look for any rotation in the body, any patterns and resistances in the ways you’re moving
Ask a lot of questions–your medical history and lived experience are really important
I’m getting a roadmap of your body.
Q. Do we work as a team?
A. Absolutely. I will always tell you what I see and what you can do on your own. I want you to know what I’m thinking. We’re in this together, because my adjustments plus any homework I suggest will give you more control of your health (empowerment) and help prevent future injury or maladjustment. For me, the more you know, the better you’ll feel. I often give you exercises, stretches, or other fun things to get you moving more easily.
Q. What do you use?
A. Lots of different tools, including:
